saw this on newsday:

It's time to again remind the baseball world of the Curse of the Rings. When the Yankees won the 2000 World Series, they neglected to distribute championship rings to about 25 employees. Those employees - some elsewhere, some still on the Yankees' payroll - contend that the Yankees won't win it all again until this mistake is remedied. Sounds legit.
